Any school space can be transformed into a lasting legacy; using your own topics or linking to your community, blank spaces can be brought to life with bespoke art work. Choose your own theme or have a look at some of my favourite projects.
Topics Include:
Literature through Illustration.
A wealth of wonderful magical artwork can be created using descriptive text from authors. Children can learn how the illustrator works with the author’s text.
History Timeline
From the Stone Age to the Industrial Revolution; some wonderful images have been synonymous with these times and events. Children will learn how history has evoked a wealth of imagery as well as learning how to be involved with the planning of a time line and a large mural. They will learn the importance of good planning, and how to make scale drawings.
Nature
For centuries, many artists have created work inspired by nature. Children are naturally inquisitive about nature and are eager to talk about conservation and the world around them. They will love creating work based on animals, birds and insects. Pupils will be introduced to, or reminded about, artists such as Monet, Goldsworthy and Gaudi, who were inspired by nature to make some fantastic artwork.
You may have a lasting mural based on nature, or individual classroom display of the children’s work on my own nature background.
School crest or emblems
I can reproduce your own school logo or crest in the hall or corridor. As always, I would involve the children in the process as much as possible. Children will learn about logos, crests and branding, as well as how to enlarge an image, and to use materials successfully.
